Millennium Fellowship Project: Educate and empower women and girls: End female genital mutilation
My project aims eradidication of female Genital mutilation by empowering women, young and teenage girls and informing them about female Genital mutilation, its negative effects on the female body and possible health complications.
Also Educate them on the disadvantages of domestic violence particularly against women, child marriage and sexual and gender based violence and exploitation.
About the Millennium Fellow
OLAWUYI Aanuoluwapo, a medical student in Afe Babalola university, Nigeria. She is passionate about making people happy and ensures that people’s lives are made easy. She has proven to be very interested in the well being of people around her especially those who are overlooked, underestimated and whose rights are trampled upon in this case women. It is a priority for her to ensure that harmful, unfair, unjust and discriminative practices against women are stopped.
Furthering SDG 5, she was able educate and empower people particularly women and girls at risk of female genital mutilation and she is an active advocate against it.
She is also interested in research and Volunteering.
She has held various leadership position including a Nigerian Medical Student Association (NiMSA) local officer representing Afe Babalola Medical Student Association.
She is a great asset to the community and the nation at large.
