CHIME which means Chronic Health Issues and its Mental Health Effects.
The project is focused on the two major chronic medical conditions; diabetes and hypertension. Our aim is towards the youths, middle age groups, elderly in our local community. We would be talking about the risk factors which are avoidable or inevitable. How they should be avoided. Teach them to recognize Signs and symptoms, Their management, support group system, control and when to seek help at the hospital. And we hope with joint effort, mortality from non-communicable diseases through prevention and treatment and promote mental health and well-being will be drastically reduced

About the Millennium Fellow

Precious Abudu is a 5th year Medical student at Afe Babalola University in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti state. Precious has seen various health, economic and social problems in her environment and is looking forward to finding ways to solve or at least reduce the burden of these problems with like minded Nigerians. As a Nigerian, there are several methods which people have come up with to cope with the current situation, her school included. Through her project, she is hopeful and excited to contribute to solving a national problem and perhaps involving herself in a bigger project on more bigger, global stage. After she graduates, Precious is intending to work in the health care system as a medical doctor as health problems are rampant and people have poor health seeking behaviours and plans to work with others to improve Nigeria's health sector, thereby reducing mortality and morbidity.
