Millennium Fellowship Project: Women's rights advocacy

In collaboration with the UK Embassy in Greece we hosted a two-panel event to help raise awareness and eliminate violence against women and girls "16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence Conference". The event was located at Deree the American College of Greece, took place on November 28th and it was open to the public. The event was attended by more than 80 individuals, including non-profits invited.
The one panel was focused on allyship and consent, with insights from the UK and Greece (lead by the UK embassy) and the other one on violence against women (lead by the Women's rights advocacy cohort of the Millennium Fellowship which consisted of Konstantina Maria Cheimara and Laila Eirini Karra).

About the Millennium Fellow

Konstantina Cheimara is born and raised in Athens and speaks 3 languages (Greek, English and French). She is majoring in Psychology and pursues a minor in Anthropology at The American College of Greece. Konstantina is an active student being the Founder and President of Social Issues Club, elected General Secretary of the Psychology Society, Sustainability Leader and Campus Director of the Millennium Fellowship Program by United Nations and MCN for her college. She is always striving to bring change first in the student community and then in the workforce by participating in educational and skill building programs, and volunteering for numerous humanitarian causes.
