Millennium Fellowship Project: Plastic free communities
My Project will emphasize reusing everyday items like water bottles, coffee cups, food containers made of stainless steel, and glasses that last a very long time and do no harm, rather than using single-use plastics. It will entail educating the local public, working with regional businesses to provide recyclable solutions, and advocating for legislation that supports material reuse. The program might also involve working with the local government, schools, and community organizations to inspire people to take action and positively impact the environment.
About the Millennium Fellow
I'm Stella Umwari, a student at the African Leadership University, deeply immersed in the world of Entrepreneurial Leadership. My journey here has led me to specialize in Planetary Health, where I explore the intricate connections between human well-being and the health of our planet. Within this vast realm, my greatest interests lie in Agriculture, Climate Change, and Women Empowerment. These are the areas where I see immense potential to make a lasting impact, and I'm excited to weave my studies and passions together on this transformative path.
