Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Embrace
For centuries, dogs have been known to be human’s best companions. The streets of
India have been inhabited by many dogs and are often referred to as the Indie breed.
They are alone, abandoned, and often abused. Our aim was to improve their lives by
ensuring proper access to all the basic amenities and proper healthcare. To achieve
our goal, we built a network of healthcare professionals, animal activists, social
workers, and animal lovers who would actively volunteer in our venture.
Stray dogs deserve love and care. We have spread these words of kindness through
social media. Dog shelters often run short on donations. moreover, stray dogs are often run over by vehicles. Thus, we raised funds and gave donations in the form of food, glow collars, etc. Additionally, we raised awareness regarding the vaccinations available for dogs via the means of social media.
Through this project, we reached out to as many dogs as possible in need of help, became the voice of the voiceless, and spread love and compassion.
