Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Dolan Champa
Dolan Champa is an independent project led by Millennium Fellows Urmi Akter and Mahmuda Khatun. Dolan Champa addresses issues of social inequality and lack of access to health and sanitation of urban poor people. The project aims to work with the local informal settlement people in Chittagong, Bangladesh. The project area is a slum near the railway station in Chittagong city. During the Millennium Fellowship Program (September- November, 2023), Project Dolan Champa will work on creating social awareness of the importance of personal hygiene, cleanliness, hand washing. and safe drinking water (Overall WASH) to hold 3 consecutive sessions with 180 people across the events. Dolan Champa will further extend the program till May 2024 with more sessions and hands-on training with the beneficiaries.
About the Millennium Fellow
This is Mahmuda Khatun from Asian University for Women, Bangladesh. I'm currently pursuing my degree on Public Health and Environmental science where August,2024 is expected date to graduate. I dream myself to do something for the world environment by ensuring good health. Here, in Bangladesh many child and old age people are out of basic facilities. I also want to work with that.
