Millennium Fellowship Project: EmpowerEd
EmpowerEd is a tech-enabled platform that provides equitable access to quality education for students from low-income families in Lebanon. It was created to address Lebanon's collapsing education system, which has left many disadvantaged students without access to resources and opportunities.
The project has four main components:
- Tailored educational resources like videos, online courses, and personalized learning plans matched to each student's needs.
- Partnerships with schools and institutions to provide mentorship programs and guidance.
- Connecting students with real-world internship opportunities.
- Regular assessments and feedback collection to improve the platform.
In the first 4 months, the goal is to reach 1000 students. Success will be measured by tracking academic performance as well as social-emotional learning outcomes. The target is for 80% of students to show improved academic achievement.
The long-term vision is to raise $5000 to support the sustainability of EmpowerEd beyond the initial 4 months. This will ensure the positive impact on students endures over time.
The project brings the skills and insights from the Millennium Fellowship to drive change through innovation. It aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals around quality education.
Overall, EmpowerEd serves as a lifeline for students facing adversity, empowering the next generation in Lebanon.
