Millennium Fellowship Project: Safe Living
Safe Living (S. L) is a group project carried out by Millennium Fellows; Amina Danjuma and Fatima Harisu. S. L addresses issues of environmental and clean water sanitation. The project aims to engage with secondary school students in Kano State, Nigeria.
In the process, we will ensure access to clean and safe environment. We will educate the youths (students) on the importance of living in a safe environment, the consequences of living in a dirty environment, how they can curtail their activities that lead to a dirty environment. We will also encourage them to volunteer in keeping their own environment clean by engaging in activities like cutting grass, cleaning drainage, etc. Thereby reducing the risk of contacting diseases.
During the Millennium Fellowship period, project S. L will host a one-day event. This event will be a mixture of awareness creation, questions and answers session, activity engagement etc.
We're aiming to reach about 100 students.
About the Millennium Fellow
Fatima Ahmad Harisu, a proud native of Kano state, Nigeria, is a dedicated Optometry student at Bayero University Kano. With a passion for visual health, she strives to make a positive impact in her field. Through hard work and determination, Fatima is shaping her path towards a future where she can contribute significantly to the well-being of others.
