Millennium Fellowship Project: The importance of hand washing in preventing the spread of disease and promoting good health.
This project majorly focused on creating more awareness on the importance of hand washing among young persons around Kano state Nigeria, which was why I targeted the high schoolers. Kano state has a long way to go when it comes to fulfilling everything under good health and wellbeing and also clean environment. As such, this project was just to create more awareness on the need for them to be more conscious about their health in general and the environment they live in. It involves me going down to the high school and talking to them about that topic with focuses on the following aspects:
- The importance of hand washing.
- The proper technique for hand washing.
- The dangers of not washing hands properly.
- The benefits of hand washing for both personal and public health.
I also demonstrated to them on how to properly wash their hands and distributed some antibacterial hand washing soaps to them after the demonstration.
