Millennium Fellowship Project: Harm Reduction Expansion Project

My project is to expand harm reduction education when it comes to how to access and use narcan and fentanyl testing strips. Additionally, with this education, my project aims to create more open dialogue with the idea of harm reduction by holding workshops and partnering with community resources.

About the Millennium Fellow

Ryen Smith is a senior history student at the University of California, Berkeley, in Berkeley, CA, USA. Ryen is passionate and invested in how communities can initiate change in more social awareness of drug protection and safety. Ryen's education, centered on history, touches upon historical moments in drug policy history that have affected her environment today. Through Ryen's project, she hopes to maximize her communities ability to become more informed and protected as well as reduce the harm addiction inflicts. After earning her bachelor's degree, Ryen plans to pursue and earn a master's degree in history and work in public policy.
