Millennium Fellowship Project: Improving Access to Information on Hygienic Practices for Young Girls, Women and Children in Remote Communities in Buea and Limbe.
The project improve access to information on hygienic practices for young girls, women and children in remote communities in Buea and Limbe. This acess to information on hygienic practices has reduced the great problem which existed in many remote communities and it can lead to the reduction various health issues, including infections and diseases. By improving acess to information on these practice, the project continue to hopes to empower these group of people to better take care of their health and welbeing.
The project involved the creation and dissemination of educational materials relevant to the young girls, women and children in the communities. The educatioonal materials were developed in collaborations with mentors and some local organisation and they were designed to be culturally sensitive and accesible to individuals with low literacy rates.
The project invovled community outreach activities such as workshops, seminars, and community events, educating the young girls, women and children on the importance of hygienic practices and tried improving them with practical guidiance on how to maintain good hygienic practices.
About the Millennium Fellow
Chantal Ebonkeng Mbong is an International Relations student at the University of Buea , Southwest, Cameroon. She is thrilled on how young individuals can contribute to world development and passionate about improving sustainable development in rural communities. Chantal, coming from the Southwest of Cameroon, aspire to bring about sustainable development in areas lacking in the region. After graduating Chantal will pursue her masters in Development studies, which will contribute greatly of world development.
