Millennium Fellowship Project: Shobuj Shepai
Bangladesh faces significant environmental challenges, and it is crucial to instill a sense of environmental responsibility in the younger generation. While existing curricula cover environmental topics, they often fail to convey the urgency of the environmental crisis. This inspired us to create the "Shobuj Shepai" project, aiming to nurture green ambassadors among school students.
The primary objective of the "Shobuj Shepai" project is to raise awareness about climate change and environmental issues among the school going students in Dhaka city.
To achieve this goal, our project employs a multifaceted approach which includes :
Innovative Curriculum: "Shobuj Shepai" aims to utilize an engaging and dynamic curriculum specifically designed to make environmental education relatable and comprehensible for students.
Empowering Conversations:Through interactive sessions and workshops, we will encourage students to initiate conversations about environmental concerns with their peers and families. These discussions create a ripple effect of awareness.
Open-minded Learning:We will inspire students to explore and learn about their environment with an open mind. This approach encourages them to seek ways to actively preserve and protect their surroundings.
The "Shobuj Shepai" project aims to achieve the following outcomes:
1. Increased awareness and knowledge about climate change and environmental issues.
2. Students actively participating in conversations and sharing their newfound knowledge, thereby becoming catalysts for change within their communities.
3. Fostering a sense of curiosity and responsibility, motivating students to engage in environmental conservation efforts.
"Shobuj Shepai: Nurturing Green Ambassadors" is a project with a mission to empower students to become stewards of the environment. By addressing the gaps in traditional environmental education, we aspire to shape a generation capable of actively contributing to a healthier, more sustainable future for Dhaka and beyond.
