Millennium Fellowship Project: Chinta
The project is a think-tank (in Bangla, ‘Chinta’ means ‘think’) that connects students in the UK with other university students in Bangladesh and ministries, departments, and top-level officials to address challenges in relevant interest groups. The goal of the platform is to support the efforts to address these issues by connecting the grassroots to the top level to enact fundamental change. The platform is structured to receive project proposals from groups, such as charities, NGOs, non-profits, and other social enterprises seeking support, regarding specific problems with an aim that they should be addressable within six to eight weeks. Students have profiles on the platform outlining their skills, special competencies, and interests. As a result, students are presented with suggested projects, but they are allowed to indicate interest in the projects they would like to pursue.
