Millennium Fellowship Project: The Cambridge Majlis

The Cambridge Majlis is a society that dates back centuries and was founded by Amartya Sen. During its initial years, the Majlis served as a policy lobbying, forward-thinking group of students fighting the partition of India-Pakistan. Though the organization got shut down, it was revived four years ago due to pressing social issues in India and Pakistan.

Now, the Majlis, as per the constitution, serves three main purposes: recognition of South Asian issues in the West, appreciation of South Asian culture, and advancement of the issues through activism, awareness, and impact. From debates to speaker panels, all events are designed to inform and create channels for impact.
