Millennium Fellowship Project: Harmonizing Social Change: Jazz in New York City
In accord with my work with the Holder Initiative, I conducted extensive research related to jazz and civil rights this semester. Initially my work was focused on the historical impact of jazz in New York City leading up to the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s. From there I decided to change my focus onto the contemporary period with jazz on colleges campuses and its connection to BLM and contemporary social justice movements.
