Millennium Fellowship Project: Open Hearts, Open Doors
I would like to create a project to address the homelessness crisis in the Ithaca area.
My project would take a 3-pronged approach: first, we could do a fundraiser to benefit
shelters and other services in the area; second, we could do a donation drive to collect
needed supplies for homeless people and shelters; third, we could organize a
volunteer sign-up session to recruit volunteers for organizations that serve the
homeless community.
We will raise $2000 in monetary donations, receive 20 pounds of supplies, and sign up
ten people for volunteer services. Additionally, communication is very important, so we
will work closely with those already serving the homeless people in Ithaca to measure
the success of our initiatives.
