Millennium Fellowship Project: Street Angels
Individuals on the streets go through quite a lot on the streets and lack basic needs such as housing, food, clothing, medical and mental health care.
The Street Angels is a community-based project with a team of devoted individuals focused
on spreading awareness on these street families. Aside from spreading awareness, the
Street Angels plans on occasionally providing meals and a listening ear to as many individuals as possible.
Within August-December 2023, we hope to:
1. Reach a least 100 individuals living on the streets from children to adults.
2. Provide at least one meal or clothing every month in a couple of areas within Nairobi County.
3. Share a few conversations with the individuals who consent to get to understand what it is like for them and offer encouragement.
About the Millennium Fellow
Marllena Nereah Warria is a 4th year undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Counselling Psychology at The Catholic University of Eastern Africa.
Marllena is passionate about charity work especially in regards to street families. She strongly believes that because those individuals are just as human as all of us, they deserve the care and respect we would give to our loved ones. This is why she came up with The Street Angels project as a way of spreading awareness about them while providing a helping hand in the process.
She hopes to reach a large number through awareness creation and hopefully in the future, find better ways of assisting street individuals.
Marllena also has other interests such us fashion styling, social media marketing, interior design, poster design, cooking and content creation, which she pursues during her free time to build and make something great out of as well as to clear her mind from stressors.
