Millennium Fellowship Project: Soma For Africa
Soma for Africa is an online platform that seeks to democratize access to learning material for underserved students by connecting buyers to sellers of used and affordable learning material. We also run free mobile library sessions for schools located in informal and low-income settlements across Kenya.
About the Millennium Fellow
Phebe Monari is a final year student of International Relations at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa. Additionally, she is the founder of Soma For Africa, a social enterprise that is utilizing technology to democratize access to learning materials for underserved students. Soma For Africa achieves this by facilitating connections between buyers and sellers of affordable used course books and by operating mobile library sessions within schools situated in informal and low-income settlements across Kenya.
