Millennium Fellowship Project: Sleep Management Among Older Adults in China
We aim to understand how mood influences sleep quality among older adults in nursing home settings in China and what the correlation between blood test results and the presence of insomnia is. Besides, we aim to explore how mood and biomarkers interact to affect the overall sleep quality of residents and how a prediction model can be established to predict the presence of insomnia. What is more, we hope to explore how gender influences sleep quality through subgroup analysis.
We seek to provide the perspective through the mood of the elderly as mental status is always a contributing factor to the overall health of the individuals. On the other hand, in combining with biomarkers detected, we seek to better manage sleep issues from both public health levels and clinical levels.
