About the Millennium Fellow

Rayna Smith is a sophomore Honors College student studying communication and sociology at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, FL, USA. As a result of Rayna's experience growing up in a family deeply impacted by the effects of addiction, she is keenly aware of the need for resources to make the path of recovery more accessible. Through her student organization, Just Ask Without Shame, Rayna plans to combat the stigma that often prohibits those struggling with substance abuse from seeking recovery. After she graduates, Rayna hopes to work in advocacy for an organization that aligns with her passions and addresses social issues.
