Millennium Fellowship Project: SWFL Community Health Clinics

The SWFL Community Health Clinic will provide underserved communities of the area such as Immokalee, Golden Gate, and more with access to free health screenings once a month. Our goal is to provide vital signs, blood pressure, glucose, height and weight measurements to all and give personal hygiene donations. We also hope to educate community members about how to maintain a healthy lifestyle along with informing them of affordable healthcare options they have in their community.

About the Millennium Fellow

Serena Truong is a senior majoring in nursing at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, FL, USA. She is passionate about decreasing the disparity of medical and educational resources for disadvantaged communities. Through her project, she hopes to inspire others to learn about healthcare systems that impoverished communities face and encourage others to make a sustainable difference. After she graduates, Serena plans to gain experience working as a pediatric nurse and continue her education by earning a Doctor of Nursing practice degree.
