Millennium Fellowship Project: Roofs of Compassion: Addressing Homelessness Together

The project is dedicated to providing essential support for the homeless community. It involves establishing community kitchens to serve nutritious meals, organizing regular food drives with local businesses and residents, and distributing hygiene kits containing essentials like toiletries and clothing. Additionally, the project collaborates with healthcare professionals to offer basic medical check-ups and connects individuals with social services for long-term assistance. "Roofs of Compassion" aims to create a reliable network of care to meet the immediate needs of the homeless population in South Miami

About the Millennium Fellow

Britnis Blanco was born in Camagüey, Cuba, 2004. Britnis immigrated to the United States in August 13th, 2014 at the age of nine along with her younger sister and mother. Since childhood, she held a soft spot for abandoned and injured animals. Although, these sentiments were innate, her parents taught her to help those in need, be humble, and never judge anyone and as time passed, she grew more empathetic towards the homeless community and low-income immigrant families; thus, cultivating a desire to take action and help.
“We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone,” Ronald Reagan.
