Millennium Fellowship Project: Finding Home Away from Home
The project consists of a mentorship program for children in grade school who are immigrants and have a hard time adapting to a new environment and life. The mentoring includes tutoring in various school subjects, focusing on English, as well as creating a supportive network for the children to grow more confident.
About the Millennium Fellow
Lara Briceno Salomon was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and arrived to the United States in 2015, making it her new home. She transformed her life by volunteering in her community and dedicates it to helping immigrant children adapt to their new environments as well as helping them build their new lives. Lara believes that a single spark can light a fire, and a single voice can change the life of many.
