Millennium Fellowship Project: Female education advocacy

Among my interests is quality education. I would like to advocate for female education within my locality. My state happens to have the highest rate of female illiteracy in the country and my project will be working towards that. Government, parents, elders and traditional rulers are key stakeholders to this. I would like to organise a program that would involve educated successful women that were able to make it in carrier and family, where we try and transform the mentality of "no education for the girl child" and "women do not need education". This will be carried out on series of days through radio talk (the most common communication platform for the common man), phisical campaign, visit to traditional elders and government for better policies also encouraging parents of young girls to have them enrolled in school and complete their education. A fund raise can be made for financial support for those facing poverty and connecting young girls with mentees they can see as role models. After that we can evaluate the increase in interest and participation of girl child in pursuing their studied.
