Millennium Fellowship Project: Autism Spectrum Disorder in Youths
My project is titled "Autism Spectrum Disorder in Youths". It is aimed at creating awareness of autism amongst students and in the university community. It has come to my notice that university students don't know what autism is about.
A school community in Nigeria is composed mainly of young adults who go to the university for their academic pursuits. Apart from the university being an institution of learning, it is also a social environment. Autistic people find it difficult to cope in this environment and that's why I am embarking on this project to create awareness about autism. This project will help autistic people to discover themselves and survive in a social environment. This project will also make sure that people love, embrace and accept autistic patients. We want to make sure that persons with autism are seen as normal people.
