Millennium Fellowship Project: Bioreactor Project
The bioreactor project focuses on the developement of a household sized upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) bioreactor . This reactor utilizes bacteria to convert wastewater into usable by products such as fertilizer and methane gas.
About the Millennium Fellow
Charles Hong is a third-year biomedical engineering student at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA. Charles is focused on helping with healthcare and sustainability initiatives. Originally from Illinois, Charles was exposed to a lot of farming and agricultural problems. Through his project, he hopes to provide a way to convert wastewater into useful resources for off-grid households. After he graduates, Charles plans to pursue a Ph.D. in robots and work as a professor teaching medical robotics.
