About the Millennium Fellow
James Shin is an Electrical Engineering student at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Outside of his engineering field, James is passionate about making cancer treatment more affordable and accessible. Coming from a relatively more rural part of Georgia, he recognizes the challenges involved with getting specialized cancer treatment when living in rural areas. Through his project, he aims to reduce the obstacles faced by patients who live in underserved and impoverished areas that are great distances away from their cancer center. Post-graduation, he aims to pursue a career advancing space technology and continue his efforts towards lowering barriers for cancer patients in rural areas.
