Millennium Fellowship Project: Tech Beautification Day

Sustainability plays a key role on our campus at Georgia Tech especially as the university strongly aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). At the heart of promoting sustainability is the imperative to inspire action and unite individuals towards a common purpose. An event created that fosters this spirit is Tech Beautification Day. Traditionally, tech beautification day drew crowds as large as 1000 people but, with the challenges posed by the pandemic, this has changed. Leveraging my roles as a Millennium Fellow and SGA Sustainability Chair, in collaboration with Georgia Tech Infrastructure and Sustainability, we hosted the first-ever Fall Tech Beautification Day. This collaborative effort aimed not only to revive the event but also to emphasize its significance in fostering community engagement and environmental consciousness. As we prepare for the 25th-anniversary edition in spring, our collective efforts symbolize a commitment to revitalizing campus sustainability initiatives and reinforcing the sense of shared responsibility for a greener, more resilient future.
