Millennium Fellowship Project: Griffith University Drop-In Health Clinic

Griffith University ‘Pop up Health clinic’ provided drop-in services to university students, to foster a healthy, supported community. These stalls ran over the university trimester, and presented a variety of resources for students, such as: information from Australian Institute for Suicide Research and Prevention, resources from Headspace, mindfulness tasks (i.e.guided meditations), resources for exam preparation (i.e. effective study techniques) and support giveaways (e.g. fruit, stress balls). The aim of this clinic is to link Griffith students with access to health resources, as well as an understanding as to how to look after their own wellbeing.

About the Millennium Fellow

Claire Jukes is a first year Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) student at Griffith University. She is passionate about advocating for access to healthcare, as she recognises that good health and wellbeing (SDG 3) is at the forefront of any individual's ability to thrive and accomplish. Claire is particularly focussed on rural Indigenous Australians, as they are so eager to share their culture and work towards reconciliation with action rather than words. After she graduates, Claire plans to embark on a career in medical research and innovation, to actively work towards solutions for this goal.
