Millennium Fellowship Project: Chance of Hope
The Chance for hope is a project that deals with victims of gender based violence. Its aim is to promote safe and peaceful homes where love and harmony thrive. Its objectives includes carrying out awareness campaigns against gender based violence in schools, churches and the local community. It strives to create a violence free community. It also had to educate people about the dangers, signs and ways ro overcome abuse. It partnered with some organizations so as to provide counseling to individuals who suffered from gender based violence. It is also in the process of accessing a place where victims can be taught hands on skills so that they can fend for themselves.
About the Millennium Fellow
Evelyn Nematiyere is a 20 year old lady persuing a bachelor’s of Technology Honours in Electronic engineering at the Harare Institute of Technology in Zimbabwe. She is an enthusiastic young woman who believes that together with other people of her age, she can make a positive impact on her community she lives in. She is also into youth advocacy being the voice of those living with disabilities. Evelyn is also a peer educator and counselor since high school. She dreams of a peaceful community and homes free from gender based violence.
