Millennium Fellowship Project: Health of the Girl-Child
This project is broadly tagged "the Health of the Girl-Child". My team and I carried out awareness walk around my local government area; Ibadan North Local Government Area of OYO state starting from UCH main gate to Mokola round-about. We went to major markets as well as areas populated by women of all ages(15 and above as our target population) to educate them on the importance of the knowledge of breast cancer(what breast cancer is,risk factors, epidemiology, preventions and management). We also provided the necessary soft skills training on how to detect early signs of breast cancer and how to act fast to prevent the spread. We also provided guides on how to go about testing themselves for breast cancer free of charge.
About the Millennium Fellow
CHUKWUEBUKA STANLEY ASOGWA is a 400 level Medical student of the University of Ibadan. He is research enthusiast who has held many leadership roles such as the Health Minister of the prestigious Sultan Bello Hall, one of the students' residential halls in the University of Ibadan, Majority leader of his class from 2022 to 2023, Senate Deputy Registrar of University of Ibadan Medical Students' Association Senate, to name a few.
He is also a volunteer in many non-governmental organizations such as Walter Dandy Surgical Club Nigeria, Junior Chambers' International Ibadan, The Blood Drive Network Ibadan,to name a few.
He is passionate about making a lasting positive change in the lives of all who are within his immediate and ever-expanding reach.
