Millennium Fellowship Project: Gender-Based Violence
female is known as gender-based violence (GBV). Historically, the term "gender-based violence" referred to assaults by males against females. However, the term is now used to encompass a broader variety of sexual orientation-based hostility identity and sexual orientation. Similarly, GBV refers to any form of violence, abuse, or harm that is inflicted on individuals based on their gender identity or sex. It's an all-too-common kind of human rights abuse with far-reaching effects on victims' bodies, minds, and communities.
