Millennium Fellowship Project: Advocacy for Climate Change Awareness
The Advocacy For Climate Change Awareness is a platform with the main
objectives of bridging the communication gap on climate change education in rural
communities using local knowledge to educate schoolchildren and the uneducated;
sensitizing them to the risks of practices that contribute to global warming, such as the
use of fossil fuels; and promote the benefits of sustainable practices through environmental sanitation.
About the Millennium Fellow
Jolly Thomas is a medical student at the University of Ibadan Medical School who holds a B.Sc. in Human Physiology. An award-winning writer with interests in global health, leadership, research, and community service. He is the Campus Director for the 2023 Millennium Fellowship class, an Editor of the Ibadan Medical School Medscion magazine. Jolly is actively involved in professional associations like the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS). He also volunteers in Mission:Brain Foundation, an NGO that provides neurosurgical access and education. Notably, he won the First Prize in the first edition of the World Psychiatric Association Medical Students Essay Competition.
