Millennium Fellowship Project: Upward bound initiative

The project focuses on engaging and educating youth through creative programmes that emphasize the value of waste and the potential for innovation in re-purposing, up-cycling, and recycling. By showcasing the transformative power of waste-to-innovation, we aim to raise awareness about environmental sustainability in encouraging the next generation to become champions of the circular economy. The convener of this project is Dr Sope Afolayan, The keynote speaker for the project was Dr Akinyemi A director, Eco-friendly centre and the Guest speaker was Engr Ademola The special Assistant to the Oyo state Governor on Environment.

The initiative seeks to instill a culture of appreciating waste as a valuable resource, promoting the traditional Yoruba concept of "Segbin do’ro," which translates to "seeing treasure in waste." By cultivating this mindset, we can mitigate the adverse effects of waste disposal and work towards a cleaner, greener future.
