Millennium Fellowship Project: Code Red
1) Confusion and dilemma related to period products like tampons and menstrual cups: For example: There is a common myth around India that products such as tampons or menstrual cups can result in losing of virginity.
2) Period related diseases or diseases that affect menstrual health such as Toxic Shock Syndrome, PCOS/PCOD, Thyroid, endometriosis, etc.
3) Ways to maintain menstrual health and hygiene.
Also to be honest, pad donation drive in India is not uncommon. But, I personally think that the effect of such intiative is short term. I want to conduct a drive where we educate women on more eco friendly and economically efficient period products such as menstrual cups and also help debunk myths related to it. Further, I also want to pitch in menstrual product companies to collabrate with my project, CODE RED and conduct a donation drive for women from economically weaker section and help distribute them eco friendly and economically efficient period products such as menstrual cups and educate them on 'how to use it' since its not a widely known period product in India.
