Millennium Fellowship Project: Taleem - Nurturing Minds, Transforming lives

At Millininium 2023, Umar is focused on the implementation of SDG 4 (Quality Education) in his community. He is currently working on a project called "TALEEM (تعلیم) - Nurturing Minds, Transforming Lives". This project primarily aims to nurture the minds of young students through quality education. The project is diverse in a sense that it aims to provide the identified students a touch of various academic and co curricular activities thereby making them excel in all fields. The unique aspect of this project is the inclusion of legal literacy component wherein the student will be taught about their legal rights and their practical applications.

About the Millennium Fellow

Umar Farooq Masoodi is a final year law student at School Of Law, University of Kashmir in J&K, India. Umar is passionate about making the world more equitable by pursuing the Sustainable Development Goals. As a native of Kashmir, Umar has been actively engaged in community participation from many years. Through his project, Umar hopes to help the region become a forerunner in sustainability. After he graduates, Umar plans to secure a seat in the prestigious Indian Civil Service and become a part of the good governance process.
