About the Millennium Fellow

Elizabeth Otieno is an Environmental Health student at Kenyatta University. Having spent most of her childhood in the slums, she is very passionate about impacting those that currently live in the same conditions she experienced as a child. Through her project, she hopes to help these people see that there is more to life than living in abject poverty and that although this situation cannot be helped sometimes, it does not serve as enough ground to live in a poor environment. Elizabeth aspires to make great strides in the field of environmental health by reaching the people that feel neglected by existing policies. She hopes to show them that she cares about them and that their health related needs matter too.
