Millennium Fellowship Project: The Girl-Child And STEM Education in Northern Ghana

This project seeks to break the bias when it comes to the average female from Northern Ghana, specifically the Builsa Community getting tertiary education with an emphasis on STEM Education.
Tertiary education in these communities has been limited to the male child with the customary idea that the girl child is good to go with a maximum of a high school education as the most important thing is to be able to read and write. This fellow who has had the privilege to break the bias and gain exposure believes there is a greater good beyond the walls of a High School. The fellow believes through mentorship and the needed support and encouragement, girls will be motivated to want to pursue a university degree. The fellow herself as a testament, despite the challenges and struggles that come with wanting to break the bias and taking it a step further by venturing into STEM, is a source of inspiration for these girls in question.
