Millennium Fellowship Project: Pam'thunzi

Pam'thunzi is a group initiative led by Kamuzu University of Health Sciences Millennium Fellows. Pam'thunzi addresses the health and education of adolescent females. This project seeks to encourage female students in the community to reflect on the significance of education and to expand their knowledge of contraception. We hope to reach about 100 students.

About the Millennium Fellow

Tariro Mahonde is a 4th-year medical student at Kamuzu University of Health Sciences, Blantyre, Malawi. Tariro is very passionate about girls having a chance to go to school and aspire to be doctors, accountants, engineers or any profession they would like in Malawi. It is through school that I have seen some young girls being in the delivery room when they should have been in class with their peers but did not have the opportunity to. It is my desire that I can make a contribution towards ending early child marriages and see women occupying more seats in the workplace.
