Millennium Fellowship Project: On My Mind
"On My Mind" aims to create a healthier environment on university campuses by promoting the importance of mental health and providing a safe space for each and every person on campus!
Our project focuses on the mental health of university students, aiming to provide a safe space for students to talk about what's on their mind! Additionally, the project works toward raising awareness and destigmatizing mental health issues on campus by making workshops and events to provide the tools necessary for students to be able to cope with their stressors and be more knowledgeable about their mental health.
About the Millennium Fellow
Leen Awarkeh is a senior psychology student at the Lebanese American University in Beirut, Lebanon. While studying psychology, Leen became more aware of the damage that the economic crisis and financial situation in Lebanon has done to its citizens that left many hopeless and under the poverty line. Through her project, Leen strives to accomplish a change for the better in her country by helping the poor and homeless. Her devotion to help those in need came from her strong sense of nationalism and her compassion towards the less fortunate.
