Millennium Fellowship Project: Empower Her
SNV/IRC study report (2020) report indicated that 60% of girls missed school during their menstruation. There are 220 learning days in a year and out of those the 60% miss 24 learning days which translates to 11%. My project is aimed at saving the 11% by teaching young women in marginalized communities how to make re-usable pads to promote sustainability and equipping them with menstrual hygiene training to enable them manage menstruation better.
And also to reduce the stigma associated to menstruation among male youth by creating awareness and letting them know that it's normal.
