Millennium Fellowship Project: The Enableist Project

The Enablist Project aims to reduce inequalities through quality education for the differently-abled. The Enablist Project is a digital service that provides the following features, that align with SDG 10.

The main feature of this service is Side Kick a digital software (guide) that helps you to communicate effectively to the differently abled without being insensitive or offensive in specific real-life settings. This app teaches people how to behave towards disabled people by providing them with socially appropriate guidelines while being kind, empathetic, and understanding.

This platform also contains Sradhaa, an awareness program (online/offline), to provide teachers, students, and parents with workshops and training sessions that promote awareness of disabilities and how to create inclusive learning environments. A variety of topics could be covered in these workshops, including disability etiquette, communication strategies, and assistive technology. Another feature of this service called is called Samathwa (Custom accessible classroom design) equal and inclusive education for disabled students through accessible and inclusive classroom design which enables them to function without any difficulty and makes them equal to their peers.

About the Millennium Fellow

Christopher Roy is a Computer Science Engineering student at Govt Model Engineering College in Kochi, Kerala, India. Chris initiated the "Rainbow," a LGBTQ+ friendly community app, striving to establish a nurturing space with resources and assistance. Inspired by this project, Chris aspires to specialize in human-computer interaction and ethics, with the goal of innovating digital platforms that foster inclusivity and understanding. Upon graduation, he envisions dedicating his career to developing and advocating for technology solutions that positively impact underrepresented communities, aligning his aspirations with the mission of the "Rainbow" app.
