Millennium Fellowship Project: CampusCare

The METU Campus Care Project addresses the critical issue of mental health challenges among university students. Recognizing the prevalent issues of anxiety, depression, and stress on our campus, we formed a team committed to creating a supportive environment for mental health discussions. The aim is to combat the often-unnoticed struggles faced by students, such as academic pressure and social isolation.

Motivated by personal observations, our team implemented strategic methodologies, including the creation of the "MetuCampusCare" Instagram page. The overwhelming support fueled our efforts, leading to a significant achievement: a meticulously researched database of therapists accessible to METU students. The project utilized social media to raise awareness, challenge myths, and share resources like online therapy options. The team's dedication culminated in a comprehensive Google spreadsheet featuring certified therapists, fostering accessibility and combating the stigma associated with seeking mental health support.

The project's outcomes include an engaged social media presence, open discussions on mental health significance, and a practical database connecting students with certified therapists. With positive results and ongoing support, the team envisions a continued impact beyond graduation, emphasizing the importance of mental health through future initiatives such as seminars.
