" "All we have to do is decide what to do with the time that is given us." -The Fellowship Of The Ring, J.R.R. Tolkien

What better than a quote from another fellowship to start my journey as a Millennium Fellow! I am an ardent believer in the big positive impacts a small bunch of people can have. And that little things matter -- especially in the case of combating Climate Change. I believe that each one of us has the key to change things for the better -- we only need to find the door it unlocks. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Every Little Thing Counts : Sense and Sustainability

My project is aimed at harnessing the power of individual and community effort at a small scale to combat climate change by forming sustainable cities and communities ( SDGs 11 and 13). This is done through raising awareness as well as providing simple yet effective solutions and implementing them.

About the Millennium Fellow

Treya Mukherjee is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Physics Honours from Miranda House, Delhi University. She loves rereading the Lord of the Rings, painting birds on the walls of her home, learning Odissi dance, and singin' in the rain! One of her main ambitions is to work for, and with the environment. Through her project, she hopes to examine how the consumption of energy in buildings can be reduced to an optimum, using analysis of principles of physics such as thermal management and light distribution in different parts of her campus. She also intends to build awareness amongst her friends, college-mates, faculty and staff about how each of us can reduce the burden on the earth, and design easy-to-use solutions to help to do so.
