Millennium Fellowship Project: Flow with Pride
The project will focus mainly on Sexual and reproductive health rights of children in
primary, and secondary schools and teenagers in the undergraduate level. Great
strides have been made in the SRHR field in Kenya. However, many girls experiencing
menarche still face stigmatization from their peers.
The project will educate both boys and girls on matters concerning menstrual health
and hygiene in addition to educating them on what to expect during their menses.
Further, the project will organize pad drives in various schools to ensure that girls
receive pads. This will be an effort towards ending period poverty.
The project will also focus on educating students on campus on the importance of
taking care of their sexual and reproductive health in addition to raising awareness on
different types of contraceptive methods available. This will reduce the need for
women and girls to undergo unsafe abortions. Men will also be educated on this so
that they can ensure their partners are safe
