Millennium Fellowship Project: Education for climate change and sustainability
Education for climate change and sustainability project will be working within Ortum,
pokot south constituency, West pokot county, Kenya. The goal of the project will be to
empower youths to take actions to mitigate the current diverse climate changes by
providing them with environmental education and involving them in tree planting
activities, community awareness actions on importance of sustained climate
The following will be the objectives of the project;
To reduce the diverse effects of climate change in the area.
To make youth to be change makers and advocate for climate sustainability
To educate youth and keep them busy to avoid idleness related evils such as drug and substance abuse.
To make a climate sustained community
About the Millennium Fellow
Solomon Porit is an undergraduate student pursuing bachelor of development studies at Mount Kenya University main campus,Thika, Kenya. Solomon is passionate about contributing to positive change in the community. He is able to use his analytical and research skills gained through the undergraduate program to identify and solve societal problems. He believes in the power of collective action.
