Millennium Fellowship Project: Strides Against Hunger
Our project was a zero hunger initiative. Food insecurity is a big issue in the community, specifically affecting the local elementary school students and their families. For our project we hosted a campus-wide snack drive and a 5k fundraiser. The fundraiser was for monetary donations that went towards grocery store gift cards to be distributed to families on an as-needed basis. The snack drive collected nut-free snacks for students during the school day. We were able to raise over $2,000 and collected a lot of snacks for the students.

My name is Gillian Schonenberg and I am a junior at Moravian University. My major is health science on the athletic training track. I am from Congers New York. I am also on the Moravian track team.
