Millennium Fellowship Project: Strides Against Hunger
100% of students at the local elementary school receive free or reduced lunch. Moravian has so much food left over after meals in the dining hall and other events. We are thinking of partnering with our food service provider to reduce waste and potentially even lower the costs of food, and then figure out a way to provide food to families in need at the elementary school. We are thinking about the kinds of educational programming that we can provide to these families to help reduce food insecurity. We also thought that we might be able to partner with local grocery stores to donate food that is close to expiring that could be given to families who may otherwise have nothing.
