About the Millennium Fellow

Atupele Kaponda is a medical student from Muhimbili university of health and allied sciences in Tanzania who is very enthusiastic about sexual reproductive health and rights. Having her own shair of experience in studying at government schools and various highly esteemed private schools in her country, Atupele noticed the common weakness in both of the two institutions that ultimately led to sheer ignorance of the students on sexual health, the lack of clear and elaborate teaching of matters pertaining to sexual health, sexuality and sexual rights. As a result, she has witnessed a lot of her companions whose life goals had to come to an abrupt stop due to this ignorance. She is therefore determined to bring changes to her society by ensuring that students are made aware on matters of sexual reproductive health and rights from a fairly reasonable age.
