Millennium Fellowship Project: TANZANIA WORKSHOP AGAINST ANTIMICROBIAL RESISTANCE (TAW- AMR)
The project implemented covered a number of programs including provision of education to youth in secondary schools in Dar es Salaam region and Pwani. The project involved insite visitation to the students in schools and teach them on the basis of AMR and its major effects, causes and how to prevent through the major solutions.
Moreover, the project involved paying visits to mass media and provide this education to the youth not in schools, also to do a church visitation to provide education to the community. More over involved to have a research plan of which research will be conducted in the community for getting the knowledge and practices of community for basis of AMR.
About the Millennium Fellow
Erick Luta is a medical student at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) in Tanzania. Erick is passionate and interested in working with youth led projects including public health involvement and primary health promotion in the community. Most of the areas of his impact include communicable and non-communicable diseases, nutrition, sexual and reproductive health and antimicrobial resistance. Through his project, Erick is looking forward to learning, developing new skills and promoting the sustainable developmental goals specifically on health (SDG 3). Erick plans to earn Masters of Science in Global Health and work on global health related projects.
